Solo Jazz Guitar
You'll find me out doing this most often at spots across New Hampshire. A combination of solo jazz guitar and some fun looped stuff combined with my 8 string guitar. The most eclectic set you've ever heard, currently covering the classics from Gershwin to Stevie to Coltrane, and more modern tunes from the 90s on!
Percussive Maintenance
The name which I release music under. It started as my hip hop production name, and I kept it to stand out from the 35,623 other Gary Smiths out there. Check out everything from original jazz, to hiphhop, to lofi, to soul/funk.
Gary Smith Jazz Group
A group with a combination of musicians from my bands and beyond. Modern jazz with a tinge of jammy interplay.
RGB Trio
A fun Jazz/Fusion trio that covers Freddie Hubbard to the Beatles with dense soundscapes and forays in and out of traditional Jazz. Bob Dwyer on guitar, Ryan King on drums, and me holding down the low end on 8 string guitar.
Roots of Creation/Grateful Dub
A rock/reggae/jam band that has been active for 20+ years. Grammy-nominated and internationally touring, I recently just joined them as the bassist! Keep an eye out for a lot of exciting news.
Cosmic Blossom Collective
CBC is about having a good time and making great music with great people. Musicians and singers rotate in and out based on availability, but Brad DiPalma and Nick Burns hold down the core and write some very unique originals.
Fox and the Flamingos/Fox & Friends
A high-energy, female-led funk band with a host of great originals that we've crafted as a group, and covers that tweak the original just enough to keep it interesting. Fox and the Flamingos has morphed into Fox & Friends which involves a rotating collective from a bunch of local musicians.
Cinnamon Jazz Group
Cinnamon Blomquist is a talented jazz flutist, who's known for breaking out a bass flute from time to time. Joe Virga is doing crazy stuff on keys, while I hold down the low end with an 8 string guitar or a bass!
Vaudeville Vixen
Maizy Rae of Fox and the Flamingos and my side project with a little more emphasis on jazz standards. On top of that you'll hear us cover Fox and Flamingo songs with a different flare to them as well.
Heist
A jazz-ish group that plays many styles but is centered in funk. See me with them the first Wednesday of most months at Hermanos in Concord
Karl and the Jazz Cats
A traditional jazz combo that you'll usually see performing at more upscale events. From NH's 200 to Kelly Ayotte's Gala, we do it all. Led by Karl Dubay.
